Translation process at Chinese-Version
|
|
The
translation project is passed to the
project manager, who analyzes the
size of the project and the length
of time and budget to be spent on
it. We also analyze the subject
matter and choose a team of
translators and proofreaders who
specialize in the given subject.
|
|
A project team
is formed, consisting of
translators, proofreaders and QA
staff, as well as software engineers
and DTP specialists when necessary.
|
|
A schedule is
established and the project is then
prepared for translation: i.e.
reference materials are prepared or
it is pre-translated if a TM
database exists. The project is then
forwarded to the translators.
|
|
Every member
of the team has access to a
translation memory database, which
is updated regularly.When necessary,
the translators will use reference
materials, and at all times they
will follow stringent quality
standards established by
international organizations such as
LISA (Localization Industry
Standards Association) and
implemented at Chinese-Version.
|
|
If any
questions arise related to the
terminology used in the project, our
project manager will contact your
company to resolve the issues. We
will also contact our own linguistic
and technical experts to assist us
in resolving areas of uncertainty.
|
|
Next, our
proofreaders carry out a thorough
check of the translated material,
comparing it to the originals and
various reference materials. Each
text is edited for style, accuracy
and grammar.
|
|
Whenever
applicable, the proofread materials
are passed to our DTP specialist,
who creates Chinese (or other target
language) replicas of the materials
(including font and page formatting,
graphic localization, etc.).
|
|
Finally, the
whole project is reviewed by a
quality assurance supervisor. |
|
It is only
after the final quality assurance
check that the completed project is
delivered to the client. |
